Did you know? Frankfurt is the financial center of Germany and has the largest financial center in continental Europe. It is the seat of the German Federal Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the European Central Bank, as in 'The Euro", which sets the monetary policy for the entire Eurozone economy.
Personally, I can see how this is the center of the Euro-money scene, 'cause they have certainly taken many of my Euros!
Frankfurt is also all about trasportation.
The Frankfurt airport is the 10th busiest in the world, The autobahn interchange is the most heavily used interchange in the Europe. The River Main is a major shipping channel. We get a constant flow of barges going both directions. The river has been canalized with 34 large locks to allow vessels to navigate the total length of the river. I have spied countless other watercraft, from sailboats to speedboats and kayaks to crewing boats.

Gypsy Futbol.
We finally got out for some actual soccer among the crew. Today was a 'Production Day', meaning no live games to cover. After all of the work was done, we found the empty field next to the stadium very inviting. With 5 of us, all we needed was a 6th to play some 3on3. As we were getting ready, a group of Gypsies kicking around near the vendor tent joined in. Soon, we had 7v7....on FieldTurf...in the sun. how great is that? We know they were true gypsies, since most of them were working on the Closing Ceremonies crew. They could have just been tramps, because they are the guys that operate the Giant Disco ball you will see. Two of them were from Arizona State University. Definitely thieves.
