Cup o Chocoalte

yes indeed, Chocolate Rules!!!

...especially after the Swiss shocked the #1 Spaniards with a goal that no stuntman could choreograph.  Players tumbled, hit, spun, flipped, got cut on the face by a cleat and in the end, the ball sat in the back of the net wondering what the cuss just happened.   After this stunning loss, De Bosque says Spain won't 'lose our identity'.  They now have some serious soul searching to do.

Chile got lucky with a pinball-ish goal to beat Honduras 1-0.

A sad feeling overtakes the city as host South Africa got pummeled  by Uruguay  The hopes of a nation were crushed by Diego Forlan's rico suave-ness...and his 2 goals.   There is still a mathematical possibilty that Bafana Bafana could advance.

Today gives us Argentina vs South Korea next door at Soccer City, Good luck. ( due to this 'work thing' getting in the way of my blog time, the game actually started 5 minutes ago. doh!)
After a first game of close calls, Messi could and should unleash his super human firepower.  Then Greece takes on the Nigerian Super Eagles ( not even close to the Keizer Golden Eagles of 1979!)  The 'evening' game pits France and Mexico, Red Wine vs Tequila, pain au chocolat vs churro! Catch this one at 11:30a PT on ESPN2.

Thanks to TK, a great World Cup game schedule can be found at this link:

Try it, it's really really fun to move your mouse around and see the info change.  Yesterday, I wasted away 4 straight hours just mousing around!

Tomorrow, US takes on Slovenia at 7a PT !!
Bob Bradley's boys will be pumped up for this one.

This will be in 3D. please go find a place to watch it. It's flippin amazing!  I checked some out last night.  I almost kicked the flat screen trying to help score a goal.

2 arrested in alleged "ambush marketing" incident
South African police say two Dutch women have been arrested and are due to appear in Johannesburg court today to face charges (in connection with the "contravention of merchandise marks act") over allegations they took part in an ambush marketing campaign at the Holland-Denmark game Monday. Thirty-six women were removed from the game after FIFA officials accused them of wearing orange mini-dresses to promote an unlicensed beer, as FIFA only allows promotional activity by firms with FIFA sponsor status. A spokesman for the Bavaria beer company has denied the women had any links to their campaign saying, "There is no branding on the dresses. And FIFA don't have a monopoly over orange." FIFA called it "clear ambush marketing" and a police spokesman said, "We view ambush marketing in a very serious light and we urge people not to embark on these ambush campaigns."

Shaw Brown, '" darn, that's the outfit I was gonna wear!"

 Mystery meat of the day-
they call it Biltong. doesn't sound very apetizing does it? but people here dig it.
In my view, it tasted fine, but the version I had, looked like undercooked bacon.
