Stories, Mullets and My Little Pony

I've heard it multiple times from different friends in different circles.
"That was the most exciting 0-0 tie in a long time".
Mexico held strong to keep Brazil from scoring.  Veteran keeper Ochoa( with his awesome hair) stopped a few would be goals by the over-hyped Neymar.
They each earn 1 point in Group play. Mexico treated it like a victory and Brazil...well, they'll keep on partying in the streets of Rio.

From the Quote Board
"there's no such thing as a bad mustache"
Speaking of Friends and Circles... I got to have breakfast with an old mate of mine.  (always best to use the word 'mate' or 'bloke' or something like that around the Brits, makes ya sound authentic). Steve and I met working the Masters golf in 1999, or was it 2000? Can't remember, I'm still trying to convert miles into Kilometers from a few days ago.  As we chatted, I downed my second espresso (watchout!) and was ready for a run. The last memory of Steve was as we departed Augusta, he was embarking on a grand journey, driving across the Southern US and into the glory of the Utah landscape. I drove back into the concrete glory of Atlanta.  Sounds like he has had countless adventures since then.  As we swapped stories, we figured out that we were both at the last 2 World Cups and the 2010 Winter Olympics, yet never knew the other was there.  Steve said, "That must be because we met before Facebook".  True.
We completed our run, his watch said 8K.  I'm pretty sure that's wrong, the Strava app on my phone clearly showed 5 miles.

Have you ever imagined you were a Brazilian futbol megastar? Of course you have. Well, ya gotta have a great one-word nickname.  All the greats have had one.  Pelé, Ronalado, Kaka, Zico, Socrates, Ronaldinho, Romario, Rivaldo, etc, etc and even more etc.  It seems that this version of players does not have the same pizazz of their predecessors.  I know exaclty why. Their names suck. Oscar, Hulk, Jo and Fred? (yep, Hulk, says so on his jersey)  Come on guys, really?  That's pathetic.  Go back and get a real name. Then you will awe and inspire the world again.
Without those guys stepping up to be a here, now is your chance.  Check out this link to get your very own Brazilian Futebol nickname.

Then spend the rest of the world cup with an extra zing in your step. Dribble around office mates, nutmeg your neighbor, bicycle kick over your dog and run down the street with your shirt pulled over your face. Be sure to spread your arms like you are flying. GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLL.

Cheerio, mates!
